A weekly hour at a real piano, with someone close enough to see your hands. 진짜 피아노 앞에서 보내는 주 1회 한 시간. 손이 보이는 거리에서 가르칩니다.
Lessons are on a Yamaha U1, a real acoustic upright, so the touch a student practises on carries over to the exam piano. The room is a quiet one on a high floor, with the park in the windows. 레슨은 야마하 U1 어쿠스틱 업라이트에서 진행합니다. 디지털 피아노가 아닌 어쿠스틱 피아노로 연습해 두면 시험장 피아노도 낯설지 않습니다. 창밖으로 공원이 내려다보이는 고층의 조용한 방입니다.

Nobody spends the whole hour at the keys. Four- and five-year-olds work in three parts: twenty minutes at the piano, twenty on theory at the table, then twenty back at the piano, so their attention is refreshed twice before it runs out. 한 시간 내내 건반만 치지 않습니다. 만 4~5세는 세 토막으로 나눠 진행해요. 피아노 20분, 책상에서 이론 20분, 다시 피아노 20분. 집중력이 바닥나기 전에 두 번 환기됩니다.

Exam preparation is one to one. A student moves out of a shared hour once they start working towards a grade. Repertoire is chosen to suit them, and every week keeps time for the parts everyone leaves until the last month. 시험 준비는 1:1로 진행합니다. 급수를 목표로 하기 시작하면 2인 세션에서 1:1로 옮깁니다. 학생에게 맞는 곡을 고르고, 다들 시험 직전까지 미루는 영역을 매주 연습합니다.
We enter an exam when the lesson says it's time, not when the calendar does. 시험 응시는 달력이 아니라 수업이 준비됐다고 말할 때 함께 결정합니다.

How the teaching works가르치는 방식
One teacher, every lesson. The same person who hears a student's first scale is the one who takes them into the exam room, so nothing is lost between terms. Lessons are taught in English or Korean, whichever the student thinks in. 모든 수업을 한 선생님이 맡습니다. 첫 스케일을 들은 사람이 시험장까지 함께 가기 때문에, 학기가 바뀌어도 이어지는 것이 끊기지 않습니다. 수업은 학생이 생각하는 언어에 맞춰 영어나 한국어로 진행합니다.

Fees수업료
Regular lessons are a full hour; the trial is 30 minutes. Prices are per student, per lesson.정규 수업은 60분, 체험 수업은 30분입니다. 금액은 학생 1인, 수업 1회 기준입니다.
Invoiced monthly. Absences, make-up lessons and exam entry are set out in the studio policy, which every family receives at enrolment. 매월 청구합니다. 결석, 보강, 시험 응시에 관한 내용은 등록 시 드리는 스튜디오 정책에 있습니다.

What is the difference between a shared hour and one to one?2인 수업과 1:1 수업은 무엇이 다른가요?
From six, two students can share the hour ($60 each): a 30-minute lesson, 15 minutes of theory and 15 minutes of guided practice. A student working towards an AMEB grade moves to one-to-one lessons ($100).만 6세부터는 두 학생이 한 시간을 나눠 쓸 수 있습니다(1인 $60). 레슨 30분, 이론 15분, 선생님이 보는 연습 15분입니다. AMEB 급수를 준비하기 시작하면 1:1 레슨($100)으로 옮깁니다.
What if we have to miss a lesson?수업에 빠지게 되면 어떻게 하나요?
Changes and cancellations need two weeks' notice. Illness on the day is the exception: tell us at least five hours before the lesson and it becomes a make-up lesson. Told later than that, it cannot be made up. The details are in the studio policy.수업 변경이나 취소는 2주 전에 알려주셔야 합니다. 당일에 아픈 경우는 예외로, 수업 시작 5시간 전까지 알려주시면 보강으로 대체합니다. 그 이후에 알려주시면 보강은 어렵습니다. 자세한 내용은 스튜디오 정책에 있습니다.
When does my child sit an AMEB exam?AMEB 시험은 언제 보나요?
When the teacher judges they are ready, and we decide it together. From Grade 5, the two to three months before an exam run at two lessons a week.선생님이 준비가 됐다고 판단할 때 함께 결정합니다. 5급부터는 시험 전 2~3개월 동안 주 2회로 진행합니다.
